22. What kinds of searching are available?
Users can conduct a general Quick Search, or they can conduct a more refined search by using the Advanced Search feature and setting precise search criteria. Quotation marks can be used to search for exact phrases in either situation. QUICK SEARCH provides results based on main textual content only. ADVANCED SEARCH provides guidance for generating search criteria to yield targeted results. Users can search textual content, one or more media type, one or more title, one or more category, or their entire Marshall Cavendish Digital library using Advanced Search. Text-related search results are initially prioritized by relevancy, with articles whose titles completely satisfy the search criteria being listed first. Users may also choose to sort results alphabetically or by relevancy. When an article is selected from the text-related results list, the keywords are highlighted in the resulting content pages, with multiple colors available to distinguish terms in compound keyword searches. The user can turn the color highlighting on or off at any point. If an Advanced Search is restricted to media elements, the results will be displayed as a thumbnail gallery. ALL SEARCHES automatically include singular and simple plural forms of nouns except when quotation marks are used around a search term or phrase.
23. Does Marshall Cavendish Digital support federated searching?

32. Are the online illustrations the same as in the print version?
The majority of illustrations in each print title are usually available online. For some titles, the digital illustration program is virtually identical with that of the print version. Virtually all drawings, diagrams, and maps published in print are available online.
33. How do I zoom and pan an image?
Use the tool bar that appears at the top left of any illustration when you drag your mouse over it. Dragging the zoom triangle back and forth along the scale allows you to zoom the image in and out. Once the image has been zoomed to the desired level, click and drag the image to pan to the section that is of interest. You cannot pan an image unless it has first been zoomed. Image controls for zooming can also be obtained with a right click on the image, unless the feature has been disabled by your institution.
34. How do I print an image?
Use the tool bar that appears at the top left of any illustration when you drag your mouse over it. You can print full images or zoomed-in portions of images. Image controls can also be obtained with a right click on the image, unless the feature has been disabled by your institution.
35. How do I save an image?
Use the tool bar that appears at the top left of any illustration when you drag your mouse over it. You can save images to your folder (if you have registered for a My Folder account) or directly to your computer. Image controls can also be obtained with a right click on the image, unless that feature has been disabled by your institution.
36. Why are image captions not translated when the rest of an article is translated?
Within the regular article context, images and their captions are displayed as Flash elements, and Google Translate applies only to non-Flash elements. However, there are two ways for users to see translated versions of the image captions. (a) When a user clicks on the Printer Friendly options that include images, a print preview window is loaded in which the captions are translated along with the article text. The user can then read the translated captions without actually printing the article. (b) When a user saves images to My Folder and then clicks on the thumbnail within the My Saved Images section of the folder, a non-Flash version of the image will be loaded on a page where the caption can be translated.
37. How do I use the dictionary?
Double-click on any word in the text, or click the Dictionary button at the top of your screen. You may need to disable pop-up blockers in your browser in order to permit usage of the double-click function.
38. Do you enable links to other Web sites?
Yes. External links may be found within articles and in the Research Tools available for each title, including lists of subject-specific URLs for museums, research institutions, government agencies, databases, and other digital resources.
