K-5 6-8 9-12 Marshall Cavendish Digital accurately describes itself as "a customizable, Web based, digital collection of reference works featuring the same high-quality, well-illustrated, authoritative, and in-depth content Marshall Cavendish is known for." This is a resourceful Web site that offers easy-to-read text articles and supporting visual information. This site offers quick, current reference to Marshall Cavendish print titles categorized under sciences, animals and plants, biographies, geography, health, world cultures, and social studies. Students can bookmark articles, photographs, timelines, maps, and drawings, which are then sent to a personal password-protected folder. My favorite feature in this giant resource is the note-taking window available on request. Users have several search options and searchers can activate the dictionary by double-clicking any word in any article. This site requires JavaScript, Flash, and a current browser. MC Digital provides a link on the home page for librarians to view their institutional statistics, though this feature was not available for this review. Students, teachers, and librarians will find this site useful for reports, topical support for instruction, and personal interest; they can search purposely or graze leisurely. Recommended.
